The major problem is poor character, poor choices, lack of role models, and no goals. Our youth must understand the difference between a hero and a role model. Our youth must also learn time management.

  • This problem has existed more than 25 years.
  • Numerous agencies and schools have attempted to address this issue with no success.
  • The impact of this problem has increased the number of prisons from 5 in 1965 to our present number of 32 in Ohio. The prison population in 1965 was 8000 inmates. The prison population now stands at 50000 inmates. The prison population for women has increased 625% since 1965. Our country has become the most incarcerated country in the world. There are currently 2 million inmates incarcerated in the United States.
  • 56% of the U S households are single parent households. 70% of African American households are single parent households.
